Mumbai: Before few weeks, the Foreign Media for a number of times mistook Deepika Padukone for Priyanka Chopra in the US and now here’s another blooper of the leading American photo stock agency.
The popular Photo Stock agency mistook Sonam Kapoor for Deepika Padukone and posted Sonam’s red carpet picture from Cannes in Bollywood Fashionista captioned “Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the film The Meyerowitz Stories in competition at the 70th Annual International Film Festival in Cannes, France on May 21, 2017.”
The news was shocking as Sonam has been appearing in Cannes Festival since 2011; it was probably Deepika’s first visit to this wonderful Film Festival.
Not only Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone added sparks to the event but also Aishwarya Rai Bachan slew on the red carpet. These beautiful Indian ladies were representing a renowned cosmetic brand at the French Riviera.
The Mastani of Indian Cinema, Deepika Padukone was asked about the whole name blunder incident. The actress was questioned about being offended to which she replied, “Absolutely. It’s not just me being offended. Everyone should be offended. It is not just ignorance, it is racist. Two people of the same color aren’t the same. You should educate them and not encourage them.”
It wasn’t only Deepika but Priyanka also criticized foreign media for its ignorance. It wasn’t first time for Deepika because while promotion of her movie “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” she was referred to many times as Priyanka Chopra. This obviously did upset her a lot. The ignorance of Foreign Media has been increasing and the result is the raged behavior of the actresses.
